Mechanics

This page is devoted for those smaller items that get mixed in on some of the story stuff, but that are also important to the mechanics.

Void

Kitsune do not have a Void ring. Birth Tree Tree leaves can be used in place of void points (see here for more info). In all other rolls wherein a void roll or contested void roll is required, use the kitsune's lowest ranking ring.

Wounds

Kitsune are easier to hurt, and their injury shows faster than that of humans. Accordingly, the wound boxes are changed somewhat from the normal. There are less wound levels with greater penalties, but each level has more points. Kitsune four of the main levels (0, +3, +15, +25) followed by the typical down (+40), out, dead levels. Each of the wound levels are Earth x3 points, and the "out" level remains at Earth x 5.

Learning

Kitsune are slow learners. Unless they have specific advantages or disadvantages modifying their learning, they require double the XP to raise a ring or skill.

This is balanced by starting with a higher number of points with the realization that most kits simply do not leave the den until they are in their 70's to 100's. I have not quite yet hammered out these exact mechanics yet.

Rank/Tail numbers

Tail number does not directly relate to level, but it does have a power relation. See the tails description for a rough-in on what different numbers of tails could mean.

Fame

Rather than having Honor ranks, kitsune have Fame ranks (which work similarly to Honor and Prestige). Working on the numbers of this one still.
